WHAT IS THE CLOTHESLINE PROJECT?
The Clothesline Project is a visual display that bears witness to the violence against women and children. The Clothesline reveals the extent of violence against women and children with visual impact similar to the AIDS Quilt and the Vietnam Wall. The Clothesline Project gives women and children an opportunity to break the silence about violence by creating shirts that give voice to their personal experience. The shirts are then hung shoulder to shoulder on a clothesline for public viewing. The Clothesline Project of Tampa Bay is an independent, grass-roots, all volunteer organization. It is not aligned with, nor part of any shelter or other organization. Internal Revenue Service recognizes the Clothesline Project of Tampa Bay as a non-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. CLOTHESLINE PROJECT OF TAMPA BAY IS REGISTERED WITH THE FLORIDA DEPT. OF AGRICULTURE & CONSUMER SERVICES. A COPY OF THE OFFICIAL REGISTRATION (#CH15945) AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE DIVISION OF CONSUMER SERVICES BY CALLING TOLL-FREE 1-800-435-7352 WITHIN THE STATE OF FLORIDA. REGISTRATION DOES NOT IMPLY ENDORSEMENT, APPROVAL, OR RECOMMENDATION BY THE STATE. 100% OF ALL CONTRIBUTIONS ARE RECEIVED BY THE ORGANIZATION. Bearing Witness to Violence Against Women and Children |
